review from Romans 1:1-15

How can this portion apply to our lives?

This is a good place to come to be reminded of what the gospel is in v. 3&4 and to be challenged as to what kind of person we should be

1. called of Jesus Christ

2. received Grace and apostleship

*. Jesus is God and Man, Paul mentions his Yichas

*. God chose Paul, not the other way round.  Did God choose you?

Compare this to a modern business letter.  What elements are present?  Are there any missing?

I hope you have received the e-mail from Melissa with a schedule for snacks and nursery.

Before I post reflection questions for our time together on Monday 10/10 I have spent some time looking for answers to the questions that were raised so here is what I came up with:

1.  Was Samson set apart?

There is no reference to “set apart” where Samson is concerned (Judges 13-16).  Samson’s parents were told not to cut his hair, and his mother was told not to eat and drink certain things.  This is thought to be a Nazarite vow (not to be confused with the city of Nazareth, where Nazarenes come from).

2.  Is there a place where the Bible put the words Sanctification and set a part together?

The only place i could find was I Chronicles 23:13.  Badal (set a part) and Kadesh (from the root for holy, it is traslated here sanctify),

I must apologize, in addition to the word Badal being used for men to set others a part that Badal is also used of the Lord setting someone a part.   An example would be Deut. 10:8  The word is used 58 times and is translated  separate 25 times, divide 8 times, difference 4 times asunder twice, sever once, separation once. utterly, once,and severed twice
